Light of Africa 2021/2022 training calendar indicates the trainings planned for Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The office has developed effective theological trainings to the untrained and undertrained pastors and church leaders.
We have four (4) types of trainings, namely:
- Leader’s Training (LT) – This training is for Christian leaders who would like to gain a deeper understanding of the gospel, become more confident witnesses, and be equipped to teach the LoA Witness Training Course and the Advanced Trainer’s Workshop. The Leaders Training is taught by LoA Staff. It’s a 4 day training. Certification as a “TEACHER”
- Advanced Trainer’s Workshop (ATW) – This training is only for keen LoA Trainers who would like to learn to teach the Witness Training Course to people in their church. An Advanced Trainers Workshop is taught by TEACHERS. Certification as a “SENIOR TRAINER”
- Witness Training Course (WTC) – This is a discipleship course for Christians (leaders or lay people) to gain a deeper understanding of the gospel, and become more confident witnesses who can help disciple others. A WTC is taught by TEACHERS or SENIOR TRAINERS. 8 lessons in 8 weeks (1 lesson per wk Certification as a “TRAINER”
- Outreach Training (OT) – This training equips Christians (leaders or lay people) who would like to gain a deeper understanding of the gospel and become more comfortable and confident witnesses. An Outreach Training is taught by LoA Staff. It’s a 2 day training. Certification as a “TRAINED WITNESS”.
We partner with different denominations in East and Central Africa to train at least 200 church leaders in our Outreach Training (OTs) and Leader’s Training (LTs) each year. We are hopeful that our Teachers and Senior Trainers would conduct 100 Witness Training Courses (WTCs) in this period and disciple at least 200 believers in the gospel. We also hope to reach out to at least 10,000 people with the gospel of Christ and have them discipled in our local partner churches in the same period of time.
We also do Pre-training meetings and Post Training follow up meetings with our regional contact people and those who have gone through our trainings. This is done by meeting with pastors and visiting training centres to observe the execution of the team and provide valuable feedback on the effectiveness of programming.
